Waco Spotlight: Brù Artisan Coffee and Pinewood Roasters 10/14/16 | PSA to all coffee lovers: okay, it just needs to be said. If you thought Waco was a wonderland, guess what? It just got better. Yes, ladies and gentleman, this city that we get to call home has become quite the coffee connoisseur. First, it was Common Grounds that brought liveliness and community. Then, it was Dichotomy that brought quality and diversity. Now, our city proudly introduces you to Brù Artisan Coffee and Pinewood Roasters, both bringing depth and richness one day at a time. Paralleling with the beautiful growth of Waco, Brù has finally bloomed in leaving its booth at the farmer’s market and stepping into an elevator. Yes – an elevator. Held within the historical four walls of The Praetorian building in downtown Waco now rests Brù. The locally owned coffee shop is nestled into a 104-year-old elevator and its vintage simplicity allures any visitor straight to its counters. Lattes being brewed by locals, wonder resting in the atmosphere as Anthem Studios lies next door, it’s truly the unique richness of it all that makes it any coffee lover’s dream. Speaking of coffee lovers, let’s talk about Pinewood Roasters. Handmade in McGregor, Texas coming to you locally in Waco, it’s honestly what dreams are made of. Owners Dylan Washington and John David Beard both are graduates of Baylor that couldn’t leave their love for Waco. So, they brought what they love to Waco. Exposed brick, simplicity, community, and deep quality are what you can expect as you walk into Pinewood Roasters, now located off Franklin Road. Wacoans, truly, the time has come where the road of quality, richness, and depth has converged from the woods of the hearts of dreamers in the coffee world. As Robert Frost says, and as these dreamers would agree - it is in taking the one less traveled by - that has made all the difference. Trust us; go get a cup of coffee from these hidden gems and experience the difference.
